Last week I mentioned the upcoming ‘crossover event’ of #HorseHooky on #OHChat…today’s the day, and here’s how to play along at 1 PM Eastern, noon Central time.

However, you might be saying to youself ‘well, I’m not on Twitter, so why should I care?’ or ‘that seems silly – what a waste of time.’ If that’s the case, you might want to do some serious re-thinking. Here’s why….

Monday Morning Quick Tip – Using Social Media For Your Horsebiz? It’s Awards Time!

The horse world is getting used to the idea of embracing technology and social media for marketing purposes. Every week I hear from someone new that’s just started their Facebook page, has launched their own Twitter account, or is considering starting a blog. It’s all good.

A few weeks ago at my equestrian expo presentation on social media, I had attendees who were new to social media and some that had gotten started but wanted to improve; one trio included a couple who were the business owners, plus their newly hired assistant who was going to develop their horsebiz social media. All of social media, and how best to use it to achieve your own unique goals, has a learning curve; one way to learn about best practices includes looking at who the ‘movers and shakers’ are when it comes to horsebiz social media, and the Equestrian Social Media Awards provides a perfect opportunity to do it!

Would You Like To Play A Little #HorseHooky From Your Horsebiz?

Playing hooky…it’s a universal human activity, the desire to escape and blow off a little steam from time to time. Now that it’s year-end and holiday time, why not indulge in a little weekday respite?

I recently met the creator of a television sitcom-in-process, and his weekly Twitter chats about hooky are reaching literally 100,000+ people after only a month. So when the opportunity arose to connect both mainstream and equestrian Twitter communities in a special horse-centric version of the hooky Twitter chat, I thought it was a great thing to do at holiday time, when folks are already in a festive mood and possibly looking for a brief escape.

Next Wednesday, we’ll make history with this sweet little crossover event. Will it lead to something new? Will it help horsefolk and horse lovers connect? Here’s how to tune in and play along….

Monday Morning Quick Tip – How To ‘Follow The Tweeter’ For Horsebiz Twitter Accounts

Image via ZDNet.com

Recently I saw a tweet (a post on Twitter) from one of the horsebiz people I follow. They were confused about why Twitter was limiting the people they could follow, especially when they only had about 2,000 followers and others, like celebrities and organizations, had many times that. So, while I helped this one person understand the issues involved, I felt it was a topic that could use some de-mystifying for others, since there is definitely a right and wrong way to ‘follow the tweeter’ when it comes to Twitter.
